
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, established in 1885 commonly known as CAL FIRE, is the state fire department responsible for protecting over 31 million acres of California’s privately-owned wildlands. In addition to wildfire suppression and prevention, CAL FIRE provides various emergency services in 36 of the state’s 58 counties through contracts with local governments.

Men and women whose career it is to stop destruction of property and save lives through firefighting. Cal Fire has 6,100 permanent employees and 2,600 seasonal employees.

Having lived in a National Forest in California we appreciate the women and men who put their lives on the line to save lives. For our family and friends back in Cali, We thank all involved with Cal Fire and pray for their safety.
