Thank you Colorado Symphony and #VetTix for a swinging afternoon at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver Colorado
From 1742 when George Frederic Handel wrote his immortal oratorio Messiah to 1992 when Marin Alsop brought a fresh feel and thrill to it you cannot find a better Holiday message than ‘Too Hot To Handel’!Alsop brought Jazz; Gospel; Rock and Funk without sacrificing the themes and power of Handel’s intent. Conductor Christopher Dragon, known for his charisma, high energy and affinity for a good costume conducts the Colorado Symphony. Tenor Rodrick Dixon thrilled us with his extraordinary range and versatility. Soprano Cynthia Renee with her background in Classical; R&B; Gospel and Rock brings the perfect experience to her role in ‘Too Hot’. Mezzo-Soprano Karen Marie Richardson with her extensive background is the quintessential performer in ‘Too Hot’. The Too Hot To Handel Community Chorus was conducted by Mary Louis Burke. And yes, everyone is on their feet and clapping for the Hallelujah Chorus. Now that was a holiday program!
