What Flag Is That 11.29.21

The Republic of Albania. A country in southeast Europe. It is on the Adriatic and Ionian Sea within the Mediterranean Sea. It shares land borders with Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, North Macedonia to the east, Greece to the south and maritime borders with Greece, Montenegro and Italy to the west.

It is in the part of the world with a long, rich history that includes many upheavals and experiments with governments. It’s name is derived from a couple different languages and roughly translates as ‘Land of the Eagles’ or ‘Children of the Eagles’

The flag which was adopted in 1912 when it ‘won’ its independence from The Ottoman Empire, is a red field (red stands for bravery, strength, valour and bloodshed), with a double headed eagle in the center (the double headed eagle dates back to the 1400s and has been used for a symbol for people from this part of the world). The flag has undergone a number of changes during Albanian history.

1925-1926
1946-1992

My sister, who has been closely involved with exchange students for years had a favorite student who insisted I take a look at the Albanian flag. I fly it because meeting and becoming involved with peoples lives is how we will solve the love question.
