We have lived in Southern California for 4 years. In our part of this amazingly diverse state we have had a long draught period. Everywhere in California the draught is over, but not here in the Bear Valley.
This year we had a decent winter with a good amount of snow and then early spring rains. The immediate areas surrounding us received even more rain, especially the desert.
We have heard about ‘Super Blooms’ and have never taken the time to journey ‘down the hill’ to see what the talk is all about. So, this year we did not want to miss the excitement. We drove down to Diamond Valley Lake to witness what many folks say is the hidden gem of wildflowers.
