When I was a kid, my Dad used an expression that baffled me. We would be watching a sports game, baseball or football, and he would laugh and yell, “Look at that, a Dipsy Doodle.”
Maybe the Detroit Tigers pulled off ‘the ole hidden ball trick’. Or University of Michigan did a fake punt. “A Dipsy Doodle”.
Seventy years later, I still use it. Boyhowdy, I sure miss hearing his laugh and hearing, “It’s a Dipsy Doodle.”
