We have spent 1/10 of this year in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. What brought us here is our ‘role’ as Trusted House Sitters and our grandson son and his partner who did a sojourn here.

As we bid adieu to the land of Woody Guthrie we think of the great things we discovered as ‘honorary Okies’.
‘So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh.
This dusty old dust is a-gettin’ my home,
And I got to be driftin’ along.’

‘So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh.
This dusty old dust is a-gettin’ my home,
And I got to be driftin’ along.’

We did both ‘No Kings’ rallies 1.0 and 2.0 here in OKC.

‘So it won’t be long till the fascists are gone
And all of their likes are finished and done
We’ll throw the clods of dirt in their face
And walk away from that lonesome place
Singing:
So long, it’s been good to know you
So long, it’s been good to know you
So long, it’s been good to know you
There’s a mighty big war that’s got to be won’
And we’ll get back together again’
We soaked up a large dollop of Oklahoma history.

And, did you know the very first dinner sit in of the Civil Rights Movement was in OKC in 1958?

‘So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh;
So long, it’s been good to know yuh.
This dusty old dust is a-gettin’ my home,
And I got to be driftin’ along.’
