“The Union Jack is a composite flag made up of the flags of three of the UK’s four constituent countries: the red and white cross of Saint George (England), the white X-shaped cross of Saint Andrew (Scotland), and the red X-shaped cross of Saint Patrick (Northern Ireland).” [pi.ai]
“While England is the largest country within the UK, the Union Jack represents the union of all four nations that make up the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. “🏴🏴🏴🏴 [pi.ai]

“The United Kingdom, colloquially known as the UK, occupies a significant portion of the British Isles, located off the northwestern coast of mainland Europe. The United Kingdom is bordered to the south by the English Channel, which separates it from continental Europe, and to the west by the Irish Sea and North Atlantic Ocean. To the east, the North Sea divides the UK from Scandinavia and the rest of continental Europe. The UK encompasses a total area of approximately 242,495 km” [World Atlas]
If the Union Jack is not the flag of England – what is the flag of England?

The flag of England is the national flag of England, a constituent country of the United Kingdom. It is derived from Saint George’s Cross (heraldic blazon: Argent, a cross gules). The association of the red cross as an emblem of England can be traced back to the Late Middle Ages when it was gradually, increasingly, used alongside the Royal Banner. It became the only saint’s flag permitted to be flown in public as part of the English Reformation and at a similar time became the pre-eminent maritime flagreferred to as a white ensign. It was used as a component in the design of the Union Jack in 1606.
