Back out on the road, this time in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We are here doing a Trusted House sit and visiting our Grandson and his fiancee.

In need of a refreshing cuppa joe we searched and found Mattie’s Coffee Company. A good rating and a nice neighborhood vibe so we decided to test it out.

OKC can be hot and humid in June so we went with an iced latte.

Lots of things to choose from and even some nice gluten free pastries.

They do roast their own beans and do it right in front of everyone so it is quite transparent.

It is fun for us to learn about the ‘back story’ of why someone would want to open an independent business, especially a coffee shop. Mattie was the grandma who had a small house cafe that people loved and so the granddaughter wanted to pay homage and feel what it was like to go to Grandma’s place – so she opened this place.

When in OKC, sit down, work on a puzzle and have a mighty fine cuppa joe.
