Arriving in Reykjavik at 6:00 am it remained darker than the inside of a cow until 11:00 am. At 11:10 the sun began a slow dawning. Shot taken at Thingvellir National Park. The number two island in the world for volcanic activity. (The number one island is Kona, Hawaii.)Geothermal activity at Geysir Geothermal Area. Iceland is the world’s leader in geothermal energy production. It bubbles up extremely hot in so many areas. Every single building, homes, businesses, etc are heated by geothermal energy piped everywhere on the island. The largest and most volume of any waterfall in Europe: Gullfoss Waterfall. The water in Gullfoss comes from nearby glaciers. Slightly fuzzy because I took it through the tour bus window. Sunset at 3:07 pm.
